Archers, gather your fleetest arrows, Riders, bring your swiftest and most agile steeds, Chivalric fighters, prepare to do battle, Bards, come to entertain Their Serpentine Excellencies, William and Katya, as They select Their Baronial Champions in the fields of Archery, Bardcraft, Chivalric Combat, Youth Combat, and Equestrian Skills. Their current Baronial Champions promise contests to test your worthiness.

 Archery:  Don Christoforo Passavanti promises a variety of shoots, so bring your best equipment and your sharpest skills.  The tournament begins at 10 am, or after morning court.

Bardcraft:  HL Alden Drake calls for a three round Bardic competition.  Round 1: Open performance round, any style, documentation requested.  Round 2: Random pairing elimination round, documentation to count as bonus points.  Round 3: On-site composition round, topic(s) to be given during morning court.  The competition will begin at 1 pm. 

Chivalric:  Baron William will accept all challenges for the right to vie to become His chivalric champion.  Challenges will take the form of three passes with a prescribed weapon style.  Those gentles who succeed in their challenges will be allowed to enter the Champion’s list.  Centurion Ysfael Bryndu stands ready to accept challenges on behalf of His Excellency.

Equestrian:  Lady Christyana Lambrecht and Lady Katharyn Clatworthy promise a challenging course to test your equestrian skills in selecting the new Champion.   The tournament begins at 11 am.

The day’s activities will also include a Youth Boffer Class and Tournament.  Plan to stay for Saturday evening’s Italian feast prepared by Don Brian mac Cael, assisted by his Cadet, Lord Brian O’hUilliam.  Tentative feast menu:  Breads with assorted butters and soft cheeses; Zupa (Minestrone with pesto); Ensalada; Antipasta (assortment of meats, cheeses, and marinated vegetables); Chicken Portobella (grilled marinated chicken breast with sautéed Portobello mushrooms and melted provolone cheese, served with green beans in a tomato basil dressing); Grilled marinated steak, served with seasoned grilled potatoes; and Dessert. Their Excellencies encourage bards to attend them during feast.

Site Policies:  Site opens at 4:00 pm on Friday, and closes at noon on Sunday.  Merchants, as always, are very welcome! No pets, only service/working animals allowed. Horses must have proof of negative Coggins. Beer and Wine in period containers only. Fires only in the established fire pits or in above ground pits.  Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. They may also attend with a 21-year-old or older adult with a signed and notarized Minor Event Waiver form from the parents. Some children’s activities will be provided, and volunteers are always appreciated!

Site: Loch Guardian will be held at Camp Camwood, which is located at the corner of Magnolia Road & Clear Creek Drive in Hockley, TX.

From Houston:  Take Highway 290 to Hockley, and take the Hegar Rd. exit.  Turn east onto Hegar Rd., and proceed 5.5 miles to Magnolia Rd.  Bear to the right onto Magnolia Rd. and continue 2.4 miles to Clear Creek Drive.  Turn left onto Clear Creek Drive, and the camp entrance is on the right.  (Do not use the entrance off Magnolia Rd.)

From I-45 through Tomball:  Take FM 2920 west 13 miles to Tomball and Rt. 249.  Cross Rt. 249 continuing west on FM 2920 - apx 8 miles to Roberts Cemetery Road.  Turn right onto Roberts Cemetery Rd. and go 3 miles to the stop sign at Magnolia Road.  (Note: You will be making four 90 degree turns.  Exercise caution.)  Turn left onto Magnolia / Nichols Sawmill Rd. and go 1.5 miles to Clear Creek Drive.  Turn right onto Clear Creek Drive, and the camp entrance is on the right.
